The house, grounds, interiors, and contents are all intact and the property was continuously occupied by the Porter family for over ninety years.

The National Trust has proudly announced that “National Trust (NSW) house museum, Miss Porter’s House Collection in Newcastle, has been added to the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Register in recognition of its rich trove of documentary heritage spanning 1910 to 1997.”

Miss Porter’s House is a living home, offers a rare and privileged visit into other lives and times. Today’s visitors experience the early to mid-twentieth century inner-city life in Newcastle.
