GRIFFITH SALAMI FESTIVAL

Festa del Salsicce – Salami Festival
August

Griffith celebrates the traditions of annual salami making on the last Sunday of August at the Festa del Salsicce – a much-celebrated salami competition.

Pioneer Park Museum, Remembrance Drive, Griffith NSW 2680 (See map)

Keeping true to her Italian ancestry – salami making weekends in Griffith continue to thrive. During June and July, once the weather turns cold, family members make the pilgrimage home to continue the tradition of making salamis for the family using the tightly held familia recipe.

The Salami Festival celebrates the home salami makers and attracts people and entries from all across Australia. The competition started among friends many years ago when friendly rivalry decided there should be a winner. Salamis are today judged by an expert panel. Salamis are part of the rustic Italian luncheon complete with local wine and live music.

The event books out well in advance. To secure tickets call 0412 777 147.
