THIS IS DUBBO

Dubbo is known as one of the friendliest destinations in New South Wales and we like to call it the capital of the Western Plains.

Dubbo is the home of the Taronga Western Plains Zoo with over 4,000 animals from over 350 species and covers over 300 hectares of woodland and grasslands.

The zoo’s clever open-range design, with walls and fences replaced by concealed moats which divide the animals from the visitors. This creates the impression of actually being with the animals in the wild.

Old Dubbo Gaol

In times past the inmates of the historic Old Dubbo Gaol were not so lucky. Today you can venture back in time to wander the chilling corridors of this fascinating recreation of a captivating bygone era.

If you would like to stimulate your creative soul and browse world-class exhibitions in the largest gallery space west of the Blue Mountains then you should visit the Dubbo Regional Gallery.

The gallery’s four exhibition spaces are devoted to the moving image and the exhibitions change regularly.

Dubbo has an excellent range of cafes, restaurants, pubs, popular eateries and boutique wineries. From international cuisine to honest pub fare, there are plenty of options for tastes and budgets.

Dubbo has over 70 accommodation options from camping under the stars to five star B&B’s and they are all just minutes from the City’s attractions and eateries and shopping centres.

One thing is for sure about Dubbo is that you will be made most welcome.

And the first place you should experience this is the visitor centre.
